#DolanFire A "helitorch" is another tool in the firefighting toolbox. It's an aerial drip torch, a barrel of fuel carried aloft by a helicopter and suspended by a cable. When firefighters are securing a fireline by "burning out" along it, the helitorch can cover a lot of territory quickly - territory firefighters on foot may not safely be able to reach.
